What is KDP?
KDP or Kindle Direct Publishing is Amazons Self-Publishing service that allows you to create journals and planners that you sell direct to consumer without having to worry about point of sale taxes, inventory, or listing fees.
Do I already need to have a Kindle Direct Publishing account to use these?
You will need to sign up for a KDP account to use these templates (I will walk you through that basic setup process in this course).
What size journals are included?
These templates include 2 size options with both color or black and white interior options to create lined notebooks:
- B6 (5 x 7 inch / 127 x 177.8 mm)
- 8.5 x 11 inch / 215.9 x 279.4 mm)
Are these templates included in Publish with Purpose?
No, these are brand new templates unique to this offer.
Are these physical journals?
The end result is, yes! You'll receive digital templates to edit and customize and then use those to upload into Amazons Kindle Direct Publishing Platform where you'll then be able to publish physical copies of your notebooks. Customers can order them directly from Amazon or you can order "Author copies" at cost for a reduced price. Amazon KDP is free to use, gives you a free listing on Amazon, and doesn't require any shipping fees or point of sale taxes on your end!
Is there a fee to use KDP?
Nope! KDP is free to use and gives you a free listing right on Amazon! You can create as many journals or planners as you want.
How do the templates work?
After you enroll you'll get instant access to the templates in Canva that you can copy over to your account. I'll walk you through how to customize them, change colors, fonts, and add your own branding. You'll then download the Canva file to use to upload into KDP.
What's included in the journal templates?
Each template comes with a Canva file that includes pre-formatted pages that are pre-approved for KDP. Journals are 108 pages, with 5 sections that each have 20 pages, include built in "tabs" for each section and can be created in color or black and white. There is space at the front of each journal to add your own verbiage and an author bio / call-to-action page in the back. Each size journal also comes with a cover template pre-sized to match the journal size & dimensions.
